Residential Hardwood Floor Cleaning

Hardwood Floor Cleaning

Bring new life to your hardwood floors! If your hardwood floor is looking a bit dull and lifeless but is otherwise in good shape, it may greatly benefit from our Clean/Protect process. This is a deep cleaning to remove ground in dirt and debris from the surface, cracks & crevices. And depending on the type and condition of the floor, we may be able to apply a light maintenance coat of polyurethane which is dry in a couple hours with no sanding. No moving out required and you can enjoy your beautiful hardwood floors right away!

*If there are scratches, gouges, fading, stains, chipping, peeling or missing polyurethane, we are not able to correct any of these and you may need a sand/refinish by a hardwood refinisher. But we're happy to take a look and let you know what we can offer!*

Hardwood Floor Cleaning FAQs

Our Hardwood Floor Cleaning Process

  • 1: Walk-Thru

We do a walk-thru with every customer to address any areas of concern, take measurements, determine the best cleaning process for the hardwood and set clear expectations of results prior to cleaning.

  • 2: Vacuuming

We will vacuum using our HEPA vacuum so dust and any harmful particulates do not become airborne.

*Acrylic Removal - This is an additional process required to remove product buildup left behind from certain cleaners, waxes and polishes. If your floor is looking dull and dingy no matter how often you clean it, our process may be just what it needs to restore the original beauty of your floors - so you can enjoy them again! Ask us about this option.

  • 3: Cleaning

Using an alcohol based cleaner specifically for Hardwood, we will use a hardwood floor cleaning machine to clean all dirt and sticky residue from the floor surface and the joints. This is a low moisture cleaning process where there is a small amount of solution applied with a soft bristle scrubber and vacuumed up immediately.  The Alcohol Solution base allows the floor to dry quickly.

  • 4: Rinsing

Using an alcohol based rinsing agent to remove all the cleaner from the floor surface and the joints.

*Polyurethane Application - Additionally, we offer an (optional) thin maintenance coat of polyurethane for hardwood floors. This is a great alternative to sanding/refinishing, but the floor must be in good condition. Ask us if your floor would be a good fit for this option!

Residential Hardwood Cleaning FAQs

Got questions? We've got answers! Explore our FAQs to find quick solutions to common questions about our services, policies, and more.

  • How Do I Prepare For My Hardwood Floor Cleaning?

    1) Please schedule any other contractors outside of our cleaning time.

    2) Please schedule driveway sealing/coating for AFTER we’ve been there to clean.

    3) Please keep pets and children out of the work area so there are no accidents or disruptions.

    4) Do not use any store-bought products to try to remove any stains before we arrive, as these may interact with our cleaning agents.

    5) Please close the doors of areas we will not be cleaning. (We will not enter a closed door unless otherwise discussed.)

    6) Please notify us prior to the cleaning if any family members have severe allergies or health conditions that may be affected by cleaning products.

    7) We will bring in our own filtered and softened water, but occasionally may need access to a utility sink and/or an outside faucet.

    8) Please clear all entrances, walkways and stairs before our arrival.

    9) Furniture Moving: Unless otherwise discussed, please move all furniture and small items out of the hardwood areas to be cleaned, before our arrival. If you will need help with furniture moving, please discuss that with our technician at the initial inspection/quote.

    10) Area rugs will also need to be pulled up in the areas we will be cleaning the hardwood floors. If you need help with this, we can do this upon arrival. (This is also a great time to have your area rugs cleaned off-site, so let us know at the initial inspection/quote if you're interested in this service as well!)

  • How long until I can use my hardwood floor again?

After cleaning: The floor is ready to be walked on if this is all that will be done.

If applying polyurethane: The floor needs to dry for a few hours. After we’ve checked to make sure no touchups are needed and everything has dried properly, it can be walked on with socks, light foot traffic only for 24 hours. After 24 hours, furniture can be put back. Rugs can go back after 7 days.

  • What should I use to clean my hardwood floor?

We want you to LOVE your hardwood floors, so we recommend using “Squeaky”. It’s a neutral ph cleaner that doesn’t leave a residue behind when you clean, and your floor will look beautiful way longer than it would using anything else. We keep it stocked, and we know you’ll love it just like we do. Ask how you can get your bottle!

  • My Hardwood Floor Is Dingy or Has A Film On It

Certain store-bought cleaners and specifically polishes leave a residue or wax film on hardwood floors. In order to get back to the original finish, these layers need to be removed and it can be an intensive process. But we may be able to help! Ask us to come take a look at your floor and we'll let you know what to expect with our cleaning process.

  • Do you clean other hard floor surfaces?

    Yes we do!

    We also clean:

    *Laminate

    *Vinyl

    *LVT

    *LVP

    *Rubber

    *Concrete

    *Garage Floors

    *Epoxy Floors

If you have a floor type not listed, we can probably clean it, so just ask!
