Tile & Grout Cleaning FAQs

Our Tile & Grout Cleaning Process

  • 1: Walk-Thru

    We do a walk-thru with every customer to address any areas of concern, take measurements, determine the best cleaning process for the tile & grout or natural stone, and set clear expectations of results prior to cleaning.

  • 2: Prep & Protection

    We use floor/corner protection & our Orange Seal-A-Door covering as needed.

  • 3: Vacuum

    We will vacuum using our HEPA vacuum so dust and any harmful particulates do not become airborne. 

  • 4: Pre-Spray

    We use a pre-spray to break down any soiling, or sticky substances or grease that has embedded itself into the grout lines left behind by spills or foot traffic.

  • 5: Scrubbing

    We use a Counter Rotating Brush Machine (CRB) to work in the pre-spray and lift the soil from the tile and grout lines.

  • 6: Cleaning

    We clean using a truck mounted hot water extraction system (commonly referred to as “steam cleaning”) and specialty cleaning tools along with cleaning agents designed specifically for cleaning tile/grout or natural stone.

  • 7: Sealer

     We apply grout sealer to the area that has been cleaned.

  • 8: Drying & Results

    We will then start the drying process. At this point we will show the results of the cleaning.

  • How Do I Prepare For My Tile/Grout Cleaning?

    1) Please schedule any other contractors outside of our cleaning time.


    2) Please schedule driveway sealing/coating for AFTER we’ve been there to clean.


    3) Please keep pets and children out of the work area so there are no accidents or disruptions.


    4) Do not use any store-bought products to try to remove any stains before we arrive, as these may interact with our cleaning agents.


    5) Please close the doors of areas we will not be cleaning. (We will not enter a closed door unless otherwise discussed.)


    6) Please notify us prior to the cleaning if any family members have severe allergies or health conditions that may be affected by cleaning products.


    7) We will bring in our own filtered and softened water, but occasionally may need access to a utility sink and/or an outside faucet.


    8) Please clear all entrances, walkways and stairs before our arrival.


    9) Furniture Moving: Unless otherwise discussed, please move all furniture and small items out of the tiled area to be cleaned, before our arrival. Furniture can be moved back after we're done with the cleaning and the sealer has dried (about 30 minutes). If you will need help with furniture moving, please discuss that with our technician at the initial inspection/quote.

  • When can I walk on my tile & move my furniture?

    As soon as the tile is dry, it can be walked on. Furniture can also be moved back as soon as it’s dry.


    You can turn on the ceiling fans and the house fan to “ON” to speed up the process. But it doesn’t take very long.

  • What should I use to maintain my tile/grout?

    Cleaning products that have a neutral ph are best. Stay away from anything harsh or acidic as it will etch the grout. If you’re not sure what to look for, we sell a neutral cleaner that we use ourselves and our customers highly recommend. Plus we always keep it in stock, so feel free to shop local and get your product from us! 😉

  • Do you clean other hard floor surfaces?

    Yes we do!
